Before Lolabean, I worked as a graphic designer. I loved it and the experience has helped me tremendously with our business. I haven't really thought too much about graphic design on an intellectual level or the history of it all until I noticed the beautiful Friends of the Highline logo. Logos are fun to do and extremely difficult at the same time. I've always been pretty good at the conceptual side of creating one but never that great at executing one. Milton Glaser, alongside many graphic designers of his generation, have created iconic logos including the I Love NY logo that have been around since my childhood. These logos have become nostalgic and when they change and evolve, I finally take notice and mourn their loss.
