For the last three years, I've decorated Luca's school's annual benefit. It's a lot of work but I love researching ideas and designing it. This year, some Moms came up with a black and white theme so I ran with it. Here are several ideas I came across.
wallpaper
For as long as I can remember I have almost wallpapered a wall. I love wallpaper. I think it gives a home a finished look but it seems so permanent so I've never actually done it. The last image is triangular wall stickers. Maybe I'll do this not so permanent option for Luca and Julian's bedroom.
the tulip table
I love a tulip table for a breakfast nook or with a banquette like the iconic white tulip table designed by Eero Saarinen in the 1950s for Knoll. Saarinen, a former sculpture, was trying to get rid of the "slum of legs" found under chairs and tables with four legs.
The ladies
I just watched this 13 minute video on Aeon about two bickering 90-something year old sisters who still run their small couture shop. I always wonder if I'll be tooling around my NYC apartment making jewelry in my 90s. If I am, I hope I'm lucky enough to have someone there to bicker with. They had me laughing out loud.
